The Effie Awards Türkiye, organized for the 16th time this year byReklamcılar Derneği - Turkish Association of Advertising Agencies ve Reklamverenler Derneğiin collaboration with Effie Worldwide, were presented to their recipients at a ceremony yesterday evening. This year, 72 awards were given at the ceremony, and 45 categories, including 188 sectoral and 149 private ones, were accepted for application. The categories with the highest number of applications were Snacks, Multiple Retail and Marketplace, and Household Cleaning and Care Products. The opening speecheswere deliveredby Burcu Özdemir, President ofReklamcılar Derneği, and Ahmet Pura, President ofReklamverenler Derneği.In her opening speech, Burcu Özdemir emphasized the importance of the Effie Awards, stating,"At the core of our profession lies the creation of effective and creative works. Effie is the biggest advocate and evaluator of this culture in Türkiye. We gather here tonight to celebrate these valuable awards, which prove howour work can be measuredwith creativity, spread to wide target audiences, and make our voices heard worldwide. The existence of Effie adds great value to all of us, so we are grateful for Effie."Ahmet PURA,expressed his disappointment in the Social Gender Equality category, saying,"Every year, I present an award for Social Gender Equality in Advertising; however, I am very sorry this year. Because there were very few applications in this category, and unfortunately,no work deserving of the award was found. According to our Effie Award-winning and Finalist TV Commercials Equality Report, which we have been conducting for six years, while the results regarding equality were good last year, we see that progress has slowed down. In addition to the main parameters we follow, we have also been looking at age, body size, and disability status in the use of main characters for the past two years. Unfortunately, we have observed an increase in discrimination, especially in the over-50 and plus-size categories. I invite all brands and agencies to be more careful about this. #EffieAwards #EffieAwardsTürkiye #Marketing #Advertising #EffieTürkiye

Developed countries provided and mobilised USD 115.9 billion in climate finance for developing countries in 2022, exceeding the annual 100 billion goal for the first time and reaching a level that had not been expected before 2025.According to new figures from the OECD - OCDE, in 2022 climate finance was up by 30% from 2021, or by USD 26.3 billion. This is the biggest year-on-year increase to date and means that the 100 billion mark was reached a year earlier than the OECD hadpreviously projected, albeit two years later than the initial target date of 2020.“It is good to see that developed countries have exceeded the USD 100 billion goal in 2022. Exceeding this annual commitment materially by more than 15% is an important and symbolic achievement which goes some way towards making up for the two year delay, which should help build trust. We encourage developed countries to keep up the momentum, also to leverage it further with additional policy efforts to boost private climate finance,”OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormannsaid. “It will be important to sustain this level of elevated support through to 2025 while also increasing our ambition for the new post-2025 goal. Multilateral providers and the private sector will be key to further bridging the investment gap, notably in areas such as clean energy, agriculture and resilience. For the post-2025 period, the scope and design of the New Collective Quantified Goal on climate finance must be more comprehensive and effective than the existing goal by optimising the roles of different actors, finance sources, and policy incentives in order to address the scale and range of climate-related finance needs.”#ClimateFinance #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #OECD

Lombard Odier Group, a global wealth and asset manager with a 60-year legacy in theMiddle East, today revealed the results from its2024 United Arab Emirates (UAE) Expat Study, which focusses on the needs, goals and experiences of high-net-worth (HNW) expatriates living in the region. Key findings reveal a strong and growing demand for sophisticated wealth management advisory services, fuelled by low levels of familiarity with local regulations and existing wealth planning arrangements, as well as a growing intent from HNW individuals to remain and/or retire in the region. The study highlights the strong draw of the UAE for Western expats, more than 40% of whom cite high quality of life and investment opportunities as the primary drivers for moving to the region. Younger HNWs primarily locate for business purposes, for example to benefit from the region’s strong regulatory or legal framework (29%) or to create a start-up (25%). A quarter of expats also stated their desire to settle in the region permanently, a figure that rises to 49% amongst those aged 51 and above.Amer Malik, Head of Middle East International at Lombard Odier Groupcommented: “In the dynamic wealth management landscape of the UAE, the growing HNW expatriate community is increasingly seeking sophisticated and trusted advisors to help strengthen their knowledge across a range of issues, from wealth preservation and international wealth transfer to the taxation and regulatory implications of a relocation to the UAE.“Our latest study identifies a marked preference amongst HNW expats for private banks as advisors of choice. At Lombard Odier, we are dedicated to providing our clients with customised solutions that integrate their goals and needs over different timespans and generations, enabling them to fully leverage the unique financial landscape and quality of life the UAE offers.“Lombard Odier’s growing presence in the UAE, highlighted by theAbu Dhabi officeand the opening of our new office in the dynamicDubai International Financial Centre (DIFC),is a testament to our commitment to serving the unique needs of the HNW expatriate community and further cements Lombard Odier’s reputation as a trusted advisor in the Middle East.”#expats #wealthmanagement #rethinkeverything #lombardodier
