An interesting fact about the resort is that it was founded in 1941 by a group of University of Oregon professors who were passionate about skiing. They built the resort and named it after the nearby Willamette Pass.

People atrisk include infants and young children, people with heart or lungdisease, older adults and pregnant people.People can take the following precautions to protect their health:- Follow local burn restrictions to prevent deteriorating air quality.- Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during periods of poor air quality.- People with heart or lung problems and young children areespecially vulnerable.
