Velma Folds

Mrs. Velma Brown Folds, age 80, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Mrs. Folds was born February 23, 1936, in Ranburne, AL, daughter of the late William Russell Brown and Bulah Meeks Brown. She lived in Hogansville most of her life, was employed for a number of years at the Dixie Division of West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Company and was a member of Spirit Filled Ministries. Mrs. Folds loved flower gardening and enjoyed sharing her flowers with others. Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, June and Donnie Skipper of Franklin, Lorene Garnto of Hogansville, Paula and Barry Hempstead of Mulberry, FL; son and daughter in-law, Marcus and Mary Ann Folds of Hogansville; brother, Maynard Brown of Newnan; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James Hollis Folds; sons, John William Folds and Jerry Hollis Lee Folds; and grandson, Jerry Lee Folds. The funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jonathan Hannah and the Reverend Terry Smay officiated and interment was in the Corinth Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night. Mattie Lou Todd

Mrs. Mattie Lou Todd, age 98, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016, at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Todd was born August 4, 1918, in Langdale, Alabama, daughter of the late Andrew Nelson Hartman and Sadie Bell Lee Hartman. A resident of Hogansville most of her life, she retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 44 years of service and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late Eddie B. Todd. Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Cambron of Cedartown; her brother, Ted Hartman of Columbus; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, at Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater and the Reverend Frank Sledge officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family received friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Timothy Lee Aaron

Timothy Lee Aaron, age 61, of Pine Mountain, Ga., passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at West Georgia Health Care in LaGrange, Ga. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Baptist Tabernacle, LaGrange. Pastor Jimmy McMillian officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Mr. Aaron was born May 3, 1955 in Griffin, Ga., the son of Harvey Lee Aaron and Doris Lanett Justice Aaron. He was retired as a truck driver and attended the Baptist Tabernacle in LaGrange. He was an avid woodworker and also enjoyed spending time with his family and riding his Harley. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Lee Aaron. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carol O’Hearn Aaron; his mother, Doris Lanett Justice Aaron of Griffin, Ga.; his three children, Renee Aaron Harrington of LaGrange, Timothy Lee Aaron II (Jessica) of Pine Mountain, and Jennifer Aaron Alexander (Jason) of LaGrange; two brothers, Tony Aaron (Cherrie) of Milner, Ga., and Todd Aaron (Mary) of Orchard Hill, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Tyler Nolen, Hunter Harrington, Ryan Aaron, Jacob Aaron, Andrew Aaron, Graylee Aaron, Evan Aaron, and Aaron Alexander; and a great-grandchild, Kayden Nolen. Mrs. Devra Lynn Hart, age 67, of LaGrange,passed away at the West Georgia Medical Center on October 1, 2016. Mrs. Hart was born to the late Dawson Humphries and Inez Harris Humphries on November 4, 1948.Survivors include her husband William D. Hart of LaGrange; daughters, Sharman Folds and her husband Chad of LaGrange, Krista Welborn and her husband Bubba of LaGrange; brothers, Charles “Charlie” Humphries of Cornelia; sisters, Carol Norris and her husband Earl of LaGrange and Charlotte Humphries of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Conner Folds, Kaylee Folds, and Bailey Welborn; extended family and friends. Mrs. Sandra Jean Pearce, age 61, of LaGrange, passed away on October 2, 2016 at her residence. Inez Eleanor McCune Bryant, age 91, of LaGrange, passed away on September 29, 2016 at the Hospice LaGrange.Mrs. Bryant was born on April 4, 1925, to the late Willie McCune and Zelma Henry McCune. In addition to her parents, she preceded by her husbands, Lee Vernon Thigpen and Ed Bryant; daughter, Gayle Thigpen Lail; brothers, Dewey (Mac) McCune and Jimmy McCune; sister, Ludelle Baxter and Bernice Townsend; granddaughter, Renee Lail.Survivors include her sons, Gary Thigpen and his wife Paula of Hogansville and Gordon Thigpen and his wife Rhonda of LaGrange; daughter, Linda Fletcher and her husband John of Carrollton. She is also leaving behind eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; extended family and friends.Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Baptist Tabernacle. Ms. Jenna Isabelle Cruz Evans, age 30, of LaGrange, passed away September 29, 2016 at Atlanta Medical Center. Jenna was born in LaGrange on August 4, 1986, the loving daughter, mother and sister, of Johnny B. Cruz, and Tammy J. Miller Cruz. Jenna’s love was refurbishing and painting, and spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by her daughter, which was the love of her life, Layten Caroline Evans; her parents Johnny, and Tammy Cruz; sister, Amber (husband John) Spears; brother, Jacob Cruz; nieces, Zoie Pemberton, Lola Pemberton, Eden Spears and Madison Cruz; nephew, Kane Pemberton; grandfather, Rev. Wayne Miller and several uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
Jenna was preceded in death by grandmothers, Diane Miller and Caroline Cruz; grandfather, Juan B. Cruz, Sr. and great-grandparents Virginia and Wayne Hyatt. Mrs. Vivian Donaldson Snider, age 81, of Pine Mountain, GA died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Snider was born July 15, 1935 in Rock Run, AL, daughter of the late Virgil Taft Donaldson and Catherine Pope Donaldson.She was a member of the 31stStreet Church of Christ in Columbus, GA. Mrs. Snider was employed with Pine Mountain Wild Animal Safari as the secretary before retiring.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ronald E. Snider. Son, Dwight Miller, sister, Carolyn Collier, and a brother, Gene Donaldson. Survivors include four sons, Mike (Beebe) Miller, Edward (Linder) Snider, Samuel (Carla) Snider, and Curt (Donna) Snider; grandchildren, Leita Allen, Gina Stokley, Nicole (Martin) Davis, Daniel (Jessica) Snider, Alisha (Anthony) Daigrepont, Roary S. E. Snider II, Sarah Beth Snider, and Samantha Taylor; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, brother-in-law Danny Collier, and other friends and relatives. The gathering of family and friends was heldon Tuesdayevening from5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.at the funeral home.Funeral services will be heldat 10:00 A.M.on Wednesday, October 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Benny Williamson officiating.Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
